Here Majesty Queen Beatrix orders Tuesday 23 September on Palace Huis den Bosch the first new child postage stamps and post cards. With placing the first order of the 60th child postage stamp action, it starts. As from Wednesday 24 September children of group 7 and 8 go along the doors for selling child postage stamps and postcards.

HM the Queen baptises Tuesday 1 July in Rotterdam the cruising ship ms. Eurodam, the newest ship of the Holland America Line.
The ship is 285 meters long, 32.2 meter widely and offers place to 2,104 passengers and 929 crew members.

Expo 2008 is an international exposition held from 14 June to 14 September 2008 coordinated by the Bureau of International Expositions, the organization that is responsible for sanctioning World's Fairs, held in Zaragoza, Spain, with the topic of "Water and sustainable development". The event is being placed in a meander of the river Ebro.
